I guess this is where I'm supposed to talk about how much I love photography, or the awards I may have won.  I think you may already know that I love what I do, and I hope my images speak to you themselves.  What I would rather tell you what's important to me, and that is my clients.   One of the greatest enjoyments I get out of my business is showing one of my couples their wedding images for the first time.  Watching them laugh, smile, cry.  That's what it's all about, and that's why I love what I do.

2013 Christmas Tree Lighting

Every year we drag the kids to see our city light it’s big christmas tree.  It’s probably the biggest crowd for anything in our city.  There is hot chocolate, train trides, carolers, and all things christmas.

the times they are a-changin’

I love creating images of people interacting with each other.  That’s why 9 years ago when I was asked to shoot my first wedding I was immediately hooked.  Most of all I am continually humbled to be able to create images that couples and their families will treasure forever.  It really blows my mind just to type that.

Last year I began continuing my education and quickly realized that in order for me to be the best father, husband, and student that I wanted and to be maintain a healthy balance in life something had to give.

Michelle was one of the first wedding photographers in town I got to know in 2006 when I started shooting weddings full time. We’ve worked together many times and even photographed each others families more than once.

For the immediate future I will only be shooting weddings as a second shooter for Michelle Ross (Under Grace Photography).  Absolutely nothing will change for any future weddings I’m currently booked to shoot. Our styles compliment each other very well and we are very excited about the quality of coverage we will be able to provide her clients shooting together.

The Dunsmoor’s – portraits at home

There are lots of amazing places in St. Louis to take pictures but I think my favorite when it comes to families is in the home.  It adds an extra layer of meaning to the images you can’t get at a park or in a studio.

February 23, 2013 - 10:07 pm Gary Park - Excellent pics! Love the 'lil drummer boy. :)

top ten wedding images of 2012

I am continuing the yearly tradition of the impossible task of choosing my top ten wedding images of the year (see last years).  With every wedding I shoot my goal is to capture something unique for each wedding.

1. Capturing the emotions of the ceremony can be difficult.  Often the couples are facing away from the photographer and it is a serious moment for them.  I love the joy in this image and I love that you can tell at that moment they were the only ones there.

2. I love everything about this picture, even if was a black and white, but add the color from the band’s lighting and it really put if over the top.

3. I’m a sucker for rainy day weddings.  Umbrellas photograph really well and it changes things up for me.

4. I love this shot of the groom being prepared to meet his bride by his groomsmen. This wasn’t the first time I’ve shot a blindfolded groom, but It’s always been with the bride or by himself.

5. I love the shapes you get with dancing shots and the confidence this couple has.

6. The officiant’s expression really makes this one for me and the fact that it’s the bride’s sister puts it over the top.

7.  :)

8. A bride and her mother saying so much.

9.  I love how everything here draws you into the bride’s expression.  She’s so excited for the day ahead.

10. I’ve been wanting to do a ferris wheel shot for a long time.
