First and foremost, check out http://www.stopthetraffik.org and read about one of the most common yet unknown crimes of our time.
When: Sept 14th 5pm-10pm (or later)
Where: TBD (somewhere in St. Louis county)
For the cost of a $100 ($50 for full time students) check made out to Stop the Traffik, I am donating my time for half a day to you to teach you what I know about portrait photography, editing, and workflow management.
I am not an accomplished photographer by any means, but I do have strengths and skills that I believe can be useful to just about anyone, and that’s what I will concentrate on. I know when I was first starting out this is something I wish would have been available.
To be more specific…
- Shooting in harsh light and making it work
You can’t always shoot in perfect light, but what do you do when you have a portrait shoot at 2 in the afternoon?
- Photographer-client interaction during a shoot
One of the biggest keys to great images is almost always the relationship between client and photographer.
- Working with off camera lighting on the go
If you really want to learn something to give you a different look, this is probably it.
- Cutting down on editing/processing time using Adobe Lightroom
I can generally edit and process a 1500 image wedding in 3 hours (active time)
- Taking a shoot from start to finish and having a group critique
Nothing will help you learn more than putting your images out there and getting a fresh perspective
- I will answer any and all questions throughout the day
You have ‘em, I’ll answer ‘em
There is no minimum attendance requirement, if it’s just one, than I’m game. I am capping it at 10 people (being very optimistic) to keep it as personal as I can, but no worries, if there are more that are willing to attend, I will do another date. Maybe you’ll get really lucky and be the 11th person
*edit: If you feel more comfortable donating directly to Stop the Traffik and can provide receipt of your donation that is perfectly fine.
