Cara McKinlay did the programs at Kristin and Casey’s wedding and I was very impressed. They were creative while still being professional and classy. So I asked her to do a blog interview like the one I did for Mia Sorella. (photo by lisa hessel)
What inspires you?
I go through so many phases and styles but right now I’m loving 1950’s vintage style mixed with a arts and crafts look, so I go to antique and secondhand stores just to look around, get ideas and find little treasures. I’m in love with www.Etsy.com
What kind of products can you provide/design?
My Wedding Package includes programs, invitations, envelopes, direction and rsvp cards, but I also design logos, business cards, event invitations and posters. I also like trying out of the box ideas, someone recently asked me if I could design napkins and I said “lets find out!”
What’s currently at the top of your playlist?
“Every time I make A GIrl Cry I Know I’ve Done my Job” by Band Marino (http://www.bandmarino.net/
What makes you different?
I love originality and the combining of several ideas to make something new! I’m also quite a style fiend so I’m always trying to make some thing different that’s trendy as well.
These are the wedding program files, front-back and inside. Kristin was originally going to go with a classically simple program but one day she emailed me a picture of a thank you note she absolutely loved. I convinced her to let me do a second program inspired from the thank you note and whalla! it was love at first site
It put a gigantic smile on my face when I overheard a guest at her wedding exclaim that the programs “are SO Kristin!”.
